The new Mt Wilson Fire Station opened in February 1998 to replace a fire shed which was too small and flooded everytime it rained heavily.

Tom Kirk, Noellie McLean, Jack Gunn, Peter Kirk and Minister for Emergency Service Brian Langton at the opening ceremony. Tom Kirk cut the ribbon with an axe, which he felt was more appropriate than scissors.
